DeRosier added that grand jury proceedings set for this Thursday have been rescheduled for next Tuesday, Sept. 9. All grand jurors and anyone subpoenaed for grand jury are asked to make note of the schedule change.
Calcasieu Clerk of Court Lynn Jones said anyone scheduled to show up for court on Thursday or Friday but does not is required to have a written excuse for the judge as to why they didn’t show in court for their proceedings.
Jones said that while his office will not officially reopen until Thursday he is asking any employees who are in town to come to work Wednesday to help move records relocated in building because of the fear of flooding by Hurricane Gustav.
